Making the decicion to break up with someone must be seriously thought out. You should not just walk out on them without a good reason and leave them hanging. If you make the choice to break up, at least do it with some dignity.
Breaking Up a Relationship is Difficult to Do
By Makoo Leandro
If you have made a decision to break up with your partner, do you have a clear picture of why you are doing this? Are you sure you are not doing this out of anger, not being sure what the real reason is? You would benefit from having a true idea as to why you want to break up so you can show a level of maturity when you talk to your partner.
You would be better off talking to your partner about breaking up face to face. Do not call them on the phone to do this unless that is the only possible way. Be sure to place yourself in a state of compassion when you talk about breaking up to your partner.
Talk to them about what you have learned from your relationship and about the good memories you will have from your love. This may be a very emotional time for both of you, and you need to be able to respond to your partners wants. Do not take anything personal when announcing your break up, things may be said out of anger and hurt, so just let them go.
If you can retain some sort of positive relationship after the break up, that would be good. The two of you may decide to remain friends after this. Is it possible that the relationship may rekindle in the future, that may be open for discussion between the two of you.
There is the possibility of any relationship being saved. If either of you have the will to put together the broken pieces and make a go at it again, you may pull through stronger than before.
