How Do You Handle Yourself After a Breakup?

Many people go through a break up in their relationships, be it in a marriage or even longtime partners. But what happens after the break up and how does each person react? Sometimes one of the pair would like to seek revenge but is this really a good idea as this may ruin any chance of re-uniting in the future.

The best approach is usually breaking off communication for a while. This is like a cooling down period when all parties concerned can think about things and get their lives in order. You should both go about your lives and regain your respect and self confidence. Do not keep calling the other and bothering them with issues, let them be.

Go out and enjoy yourself, get with your friends and do things and go places you may not have had a chance to when you where with your ex. This does not necessarily mean you need to date, but getting out will help refresh your mind and make you feel better.

Your ex may be doing the same things or may just be angry at you or jealous. If they going through an angry period, does that mean they are a possessive type and will be this way if the two of you get back together? As time goes on the two of you will know if the break up was for the better or that you should be trying to re-unite, you can watch for signs and if you think things are right call your ex to say hi but do not be pushy.
